Newhaven College Welcomes New Board Member

Last month the Newhaven College Board welcomed its newest member, Mr Damien McKenna.

Damien is a Principal lawyer of Duffy & Simon and acts for numerous clients in the property and commercial areas. In addition, he has provided advice over the years for numerous independent schools, focusing on compliance, contractual and policy advice and guiding them through various legal challenges. Damien is also involved in local community, providing ongoing legal advice to local sporting clubs and not-for-profit organisations, and participating actively on several committees. Damien is married to Jade and is the father of Tilly, currently in Year 11, and Angus, who will be joining Newhaven next year.

College Principal Tony Corr stated “we are thrilled to welcome Damien to our already high calibre Board. Damian’s legal background and strong connections to our community will make him a great asset. The College is very fortunate to have a Board with great expertise and skills to govern our school. Their efforts are greatly appreciated”.

We thank Damien and wish him all the best in his Board tenure.

Updated Uniform Guide

The College is thrilled to announce that our updated school uniform will be available during Term Four. While the change-over in our uniform shop will take several months, the following is a guide to the updates that will take place.

Please note there is no need for families to replace the existing uniform. Our updated uniform will be phased in over time.

The new uniforms will become available throughout November.

  • Lots of food on offer with food trucks such as Twisted Potato, OMG Decadent Donuts, The Jersey Milkshake Van, and delicious arancini balls from Isola di Capri
  • Various food stalls including fairy floss, popcorn, snowcones, our canteen, BBQ sausage sizzle and what will become our famous Newhaven College preserves and lemonade stall

  • Various stalls such as crazy hair, face painting, showbags, second hand book and uniform stalls
  • Musical entertainment from our students and teachers

Things to know

  • Junior school students will wear free dress and middle/senior school students will wear blue for 'Wear It Blue' day during school on the day. We recommend closed comfortable clothing and closed toed shoes for rides and the animal petting zoo.
  • As it is an after school event, children will need to be supervised at all times
  • The late bus will be available
  • Eftpos facilities are limited, so please bring cash or consider purchasing a cash passport!

Tickets

Entry to the fete is free, however, you may consider Pre-ordering via TryBooking https://www.trybooking.com/CVRJV

  • Cash passports in $10 or $20 denominations to allow children the ability to purchase items or play games at school operated stalls only (i.e. not and third party vendors)
  • Discounted ride wristbands for $15 to allow for unlimited rides and entry to the animal petting zoo. The prices of wristbands will be $20 on the day.
  • $10 entry into the Newhaven College Stars Lotto for entry into our annual raffle for the following amazing prizes:
    • 1st Prize: $500 Cash Gift Card & 3 Park Super Pass (Penguin Parade, Koala Conservation Reserve & Churchill Island) from Phillip Island Nature Parks
    • 2nd Prize: Amaze'N Things Family Attraction Pass
    • 3rd Prize: Wild Coast Family Cruise
    • 4th Prize: A hamper from Engaging Engraving
    • 5th Prize: Family Pass to Grumpy's Golf

You have the choice to collect at the fete, or alternately, to have your purchase delivered to a student at the school on the day of the fete. We highly recommend the latter option to avoid queues and ensure that children can make the most of rides and the stalls as soon as the event starts!

With only weeks to go, we need your last minute help!

Donations

We desperately need donations to support our various stalls
