As Australia faces a national trades skill shortage, Newhaven College is not only providing students the opportunity to gain new skills and experiences, but is part of the solution to meet these challenges.
As part of our VCE VET program, we deliver 22614VIC Certificate II in Building and Construction Pre-apprenticeship (Carpentry). This qualification helps students build the skills they need for a future in the building and construction sector. It offers an excellent platform for students that may wish to transition into an apprenticeship in the future.
The delivery of this VET program is in partnership with AIET (RTO121314) through an auspice arrangement. Where a student satisfactorily meets all requirements of the course, a nationally recognised Certificate may be awarded. A Statement of Attainment is issued for students that complete partial components of the course.
Students that complete a Unit 3 & 4 sequence of VET Building and Construction can count this towards their ATAR as a 5th or 6th subject, contributing 10% of the average of their four main scaled studies.
