Welcome from the Head of Senior School
Newhaven College Senior School provides our students with a rich and diverse learning experience that prepares them for an ever-changing future. We want our students to develop and enhance critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication skills across a diverse curriculum.
Students discover and pursue their passions and talents by choosing subjects that suit their interests, strengths and future pathways. This starts in Year 10 with the Work Experience Program, where various career options can be explored.
Our students exhibit academic integrity, independence and responsibility in their coursework and assessments to achieve their academic potential. They learn to balance their academic, co-curricular and personal commitments and seek support when needed. They apply their knowledge, skills and attitudes to real-world situations through the School Assessed Coursework (SAC) component of the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE). Our Careers Team offers guidance and support for post-school plans and transitions.
An integral part of Senior School at Newhaven College is to make a positive difference in the world by engaging in leadership opportunities within and beyond the school community. Our students contribute to local and global issues and develop into thoughtful and compassionate individuals.
Our students engage with outdoor and environmental issues through our specialised Year 9 Program at our purpose-built Year 9 Environmental Centre. Outdoor adventures foster resilience, teamwork and environmental awareness by participating in the Year 9 Camp and the Year 10 Expedition.
Our ultimate goal is to inspire our students to become lifelong learners, global citizens and compassionate leaders.
